The Brazilian striker has indicated that he was readying himself for a January move to north London.
Brazilian striker Vagner Love has intimated today that he was all set to join Tottnenham Hotspur during last month's transfer window, but the move collapsed after the president of CSKA Moscow rejected Spurs' offer.
The player, who helped CSKA win the UEFA Cup in 2005, has been previously linked with moves to the Premier League, with Chelsea and Everton being reportedly interested in giving him the opportunity he craves to play in a 'top level' European league.
However, it emerges that Tottenham were the only English outfit to try and tempt him away from Russia, though the 24-year-old remains keen on a move to England, though he will wait patiently until the right opportunity arrives.
"I received an offer from Tottenham, but our president rejected it because it was not sufficient according to him," Love told Globoesporte earlier.
"The rest was speculation. I’m under contract until mid-2010 with CSKA.
"I’ve been here for four-years-and-a-half and I have settled pretty well.
"I’m still thinking of playing for a top European league, in Spain, England or Italy, but it will happen at the right time."
